ABOUT

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

"Walkies with the Webbs" is a family run dog walking and pet care service, based in Whitton and Twickenham.  We also cover Strawberry Hill, St Margarets, Richmond and other neighbouring towns offering a flexible and reliable service.

It's a difficult decision knowing what to do with your dog or furry family member when you're at work or away for a break.  Unfortunately, in today's hectic lifestyle we all have to leave our pets alone from time to time. "Walkies with the Webbs" can walk your dog when you are unable to, as well as provide puppy visits and other pet services tailored just for you.  You can relax in the knowledge that your pets are safe, happy and well-cared for in your absence.

We offer a one to one or small group dog walking service, which enables us to provide the individual love and attention that your treasured pet deserves.  You can be rest assured that your dog will be in caring safe hands, as being pet lovers ourselves having had seven dogs, five cats and numerous other pets within our family, we are committed to ensuring your pet receives the necessary exercise plus the all important fun time.

A little bit about me, Paul Webb...

I am a passionate animal lover, growing up with dogs, cats and various other pets throughout my childhood and adult life.  My early years were spent in East Sheen where my parents still reside and for the past 18 years my family and I have been living in Whitton, Twickenham.

After 27 years working in local government, the opportunity arose for me to make a career change, which gave me the chance to em'bark' and follow my passion of caring for animals.  I am totally committed and will take care of and treat your pets like they were my own.  I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and I am fully insured.  All credentials will be shown at our first meet and greet.

Thank you for visiting my site and I look forward to getting to know you and  your loveable pet/s.

SERVICES

SERVICES

Dog Walking

At "Walkies with the Webbs" we ensure that your dog’s walk will be a stimulating and sociable one, which will include plenty of interaction and play time along the way!  We provide both one to one and group walks.

We understand that not all dogs benefit or enjoy walking with other dogs and therefore require that special, individual attention.  This maybe because they are older and prefer the quiet life, or they may have some behaviour problems that make it difficult to socialise with with other doggy companions.  Our one to one (solo) walks are there to ensure that your dog has a fun time as well as that extra individual care and attention.

Group walks usually consist of 2-3 (maximum of 4) friendly, compatible dogs with similar temperaments.  We cater for any size/breed of dog, although I'm afraid that we will be unable to accommodate dogs in group walks that may have behavioural or aggressive tendencies. Walks last at least 1 hour, which will be pure walking time.  We will also pick up and return your family member to their home free of charge in a clean, mud-free state and top up their water bowl so that they are ready for your homecoming.

There are three group walks per day to choose from:  morning, lunch and late lunch/early afternoon.

All our walks last at least 1 hour and take place in commons, woods and parks, local to you and away from busy roads, with a variety of stimulating routes to keep your dog engaged.  Whether its on/off the lead or with/without other dogs, whatever suits your pet and you!  Please visit our prices page and get in touch by either email, phone, or enquiry form on our contact page, so we can discuss the individual needs for your pet.

Puppy Visits

We all love puppies but they need a lot of attention and can't be left all day whilst you are at work or away from home.  We provide home puppy visits for pups going through their inoculation period.  Each visit lasts 30 minutes, with one in the morning and another in the afternoon.  Although, alternative times can be arranged.  We will ensure that your little one is looked after, have a play with them, make sure the food/water is topped up and let them out for a toilet break.  With your consent, we will also provide basic in house training to help them through the early weeks of their development, right through to joining our outdoor group walks.

We also offer puppy walks for pups who have been inoculated. Two puppy walks (morning and afternoon) rather than puppy visits.

Home Dog Visits

If your dog is elderly, or recovering from an illness/injury/operation and simply needs some love and attention in the home, we would be more than happy to help. We will ensure that your loved one is comfortable, fed/watered and taken out for a toilet break.  We will also take them out for a short walk if they are able to.

Pet Sitting

Going away for a few hours, weekend or longer? Worried about your home and pets? Then our pet sitting service allows your pets to remain in familiar surroundings if you're reluctant about using kennels or catteries.  This service includes general upkeep of your home including watering plants, picking up post and keeping it clean. We will stay in your home overnight and spend our time caring for your pet/s. We believe this is important for your pet so they can stick to routines and have the comfort of being at home with someone who cares for them.  If you have elderly pets or a pet that doesn't get on with other animals then this service is ideal.  We also offer regular updates via email, phone or text throughout our stay to give you peace of mind.  We give you security that your home looks lived in and protects against unwanted visitors.

Cats and Small Animal Services

With no interruption to their lives, just the continued routine that they are used to, your cat can stay at home!  Services include cats or small animal feeding, refreshing of water, playing with your pet, and clean-up.  You can rely on "Walkies with the Webbs" whether you’re at work, or away for a few days or weeks.  Offering an added security feature of opening/closing curtains, moving of post etc.

FAQs

Q: WILL MY DOG BE WALKED WITH OTHER DOGS?

A: Yes! We believe dogs have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs. Our groups are kept small with usually 2-3 dogs, to a maximum of 4 dogs per walk. Groups are carefully selected with breed, age, gender and personality in mind and will be discussed with you beforehand.  We do, however, also provide one to one walks as described both below and on our services page.

Q:  HOW DO YOU ACCOMMODATE NERVOUS OR ELDERLY DOGS?

We would offer home visits or solo walks where your dog would have one-on-one attention. Once we get to know your dog we can re-evaluate their walking routine and progressively introduce them onto a small, suitable group walk if appropriate.

Q: HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

A: Please see our prices page.

Q: WHERE WILL YOU WALK MY DOG?

A: Dogs are walked in safe local parks, commons and wooded areas, away from roads where they can get the maximum freedom possible. Some of our favourite walking spots are Marble Hill Park, Crane Park and Kneller Gardens.

Q: WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

A: We predominantly cover the areas of Whitton and Twickenham.  We also cover Strawberry Hill, St. Margarets, Richmond and other neighbouring towns offering a flexible and reliable service.

Q: DO YOU HOLD INSURANCE?

A: Yes, Paul is insured to hold copies of your keys, has public liability insurance up to a limit of £5,000,000, as well as care, custody and control insurance.

Q: IS PAUL POLICE CHECKED?

A: Yes, Paul has undertaken an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate within the meaning of sections 113B and 116 of the Police Act 1997) and has no convictions.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY?

A: In the unlikely event of an emergency, Paul will immediately contact you to decide the best course of action. If for some reason you cannot be contacted and medical attention is required, Paul will transport your dog to your preferred/stated vet.

Q: DO YOU WALK DOGS THAT HAVE AGGRESSION OR BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS

A: No, as we generally walk with small groups of dogs, we are unable to accommodate dogs that could be aggressive or disruptive to the rest of the group, or to other dogs we may meet on our walk.

Q: DO YOU WALK DOGS OFF LEAD?

A: It depends on your preference, but usually yes. We prefer to let dogs walk off lead to give them the maximum amount of fun and exercise. If your dog's recall is a little unpracticed, we can keep them on a long lead to let them run and play in safety.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

A: If you need to cancel a walk at short notice, we ask that you give 24 hours notice. In this case you will not be charged for your dog walk, however cancellations giving less than 24 hours notice will still be charged.

Q: HOW WILL I BE KEPT UPDATED?

A: We use Whatsapp messenger (available free on Apple and Android devices) to keep you updated on our walks with short messages and pictures of your dog out having fun. We can even create 'group chats' to keep more than one person in your household updated at a time.

Q: HOW WILL I PAY FOR WALKS?

A: For your convenience, we invoice customers via email at the end of each calendar month. Invoices can be paid by direct debit, BACS transfer, debit or credit card or cash.

Q: WHAT VACCINATIONS SHOULD MY DOG HAVE RECEIVED?

A: Please ensure your dog is fully vaccinated, as recommended by your vet, against canine distemper (‘hard pad’); canine parvovirus; infectious canine hepatitis; kennel cough; leptospirosis; and have had up-to-date treatments for fleas and worms.  I may need to see evidence from your vet. I will need your vet’s details and have authority to deal with them if necessary.
